What is a Normal Operating temp of GPU?

Speed Fan says my GPU is running at 68 degrees Celsius seems a little warm to me as that is 154 degrees F .

 

Anyone have any ideas all fans working normally.

Depends on the GPU. For reference: the default fan speed behavior of a regular Radeon HD 4870 keeps the GPU at 80°C at all times (idle and load). A GeForce GTX 480 will be at 90° to 95° C under load, depending on the cooling situation and/or ambient temperature.

That's well within spec (and i dont even know which video card you are running). 

Depending on the card you are running i wouldnt be concerned at all until it hits 80 deg.  Some cards (ie 480) can go into the 90's.

If you're concerned, just change your fan speed settings.  My 9800 was idling ~ 70 and pushing 80 while playing.  So, changed fan speed from auto (which has it idle @ 30%) to 100% speed default, and it idles @ 56 now.  I've noticed a difference playing... meh.

Yeah, it really depends on your box and the GPU.  Some cards these days are fine even up to 100+ degrees C.  Frankly, you're not going to break your GPU before you need a new computer unless you have a faulty card to begin with, or if you don't have a fan at all.

Those are normal temperature values. You don't need to set your fan speed to 100% and there shouldn't be any difference.

That is helpful to have around, since GPU temp and CPU temp aren't exactly independent, especially in laptops.  Really, a GPU that runs hot isn't much of a problem unless it's also causing your CPU to run hot.  Speedfan tracks both, and it's definitely worth it to keep your eyes on both.

@ Rawrrrr, running your fan speed at a constant 100% isn't only unnecessary its potentially damaging. You may end up reducing your fans life span - its just not intended to be run that high all the time

@ everyone who thinks 100% fan speed is foolish,  it's not only not potentially damaging but it is designed to run that way.  Also, yes, it was necessary.. it reduced some issues I was experiencing (although, ya, not necessary for just browsing.. just meant for in game)

 

Anyway... the fan is designed to run @ 100% for > 50,000 hours (or 100k, I can't remember).  The main reason they have factory default set to 30% on mine is because of the noise (100% is a little loud.. but I like white noise so w/e).  But I suppose if I keep this up for another 8 years the fan will probably go out on me.

Assuming a clean environment. If you don't have dust filters on all your machine's intakes, they won't last nearly that long. Even with regular cleaning, dust will get into the bearings and shorten the lifespan drastically.

I tried to overclock my Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00 Ghz some time ago and became pretty scared when BIOS showed 95C!!

Went up to 98C even after I turned it to normal!!         Had to load optimized defaults to fix it....haven't touched it since

My both GEFORCE gtx 285 run at 62-75 degrees celsius. I have them positioned close together though with another cards on top and on bottom. So ventilation is sort of poor and my case temperature is about 40 degrees all the time.

I did had problems with my CPU. Temperatures were running to 55-60 on idle. It turned out that radiator was clogged with dust..... 

But overall GPUs are set up to run on higher temperatures than CPUs. I think their range is 60-80 for normal temperatures.

As for over clocking them. Be sure you got good quality fans and radiators.
